The body of seven commissioners constituting the Colorado River Commission of Nevada establishes policy for the management of Nevada's allocation of electrical power and water resources from the Colorado River.
Four of the commissioners, including the chairwoman, are appointed by the governor. The remaining three are appointed by and are members of the Board of Directors of the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Commissioners are required to have a general knowledge of the development of the Colorado River and its tributaries within Nevada, as well as the rights of Nevada pertaining to the resources and benefits of the Colorado River.
